Chef Quentin Love — Marine veteran, community builder, and chef — opened The SoulFood Lounge to prove that every neighborhood deserves upscale dining.
Raised in the Kitchen
Chef Quentin Love learned to cook at age 5 beside his grandmother in her South Side kitchen. Those early lessons taught him that cooking with love is the most powerful thing you can do for another person.
From Desert Storm to North Lawndale
After Desert Storm, Chef Love came home and built — barbershops, a clothing store, a martial arts studio, The Love Foundation. Opening The SoulFood Lounge in North Lawndale was the next chapter in a lifelong mission.
Soul Food, Reimagined Globally
The concept is simple and radical at the same time: soul food is a global language. Chef Love pulls from Italian, Mexican, Asian, and American kitchens — and filters every dish through the warmth and intention of soul.

Two Locations, One Vision
The Westside in the MLK Legacy Apartments was North Lawndale's first upscale restaurant. The Southside Beverly location followed — a distinct menu, live jazz on weekends, and the same conviction that every neighborhood deserves to dine beautifully.
